Why we arrested Regina Daniel’s brother, Sammy West – FCT Police
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arraigned Samuel Ojeogwu, brother of actress Regina Daniels, before a court in Abuja. Ojeogwu faces allegations of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft.
The police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the arraignment followed a petition submitted to the FCT Metro Area Command on October 28, 2025, against Ojeogwu and three others.
The police explained that Ojeogwu was arrested after failing to honor a police invitation regarding the petition. The command had issued several invitations for questioning, which were not honored, leading to his arrest in Lagos and subsequent conveyance to Abuja for investigation.
The controversy surrounding Ojeogwu’s arrest began when Regina Daniels alleged that he was detained on the orders of her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. The actress and her siblings accused the senator of abusing his power and demanded Ojeogwu’s immediate release.
However, the police maintained that Ojeogwu’s arrest was in connection with the petition against him. The command’s spokesperson reaffirmed their commitment to professionalism, due process, and adherence to the rule of law.
Ojeogwu was charged in court on November 6, 2025, for the alleged offenses and has been remanded pending fulfillment of his bail conditions. The police emphasized that the action was taken based on a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court.
The FCT Police Command reiterated its dedication to upholding the law and ensuring that investigations are carried out thoroughly and professionally.
