Arsenal fan shot dead for celebrating the club’s 2-0 victory over Manchester United

A fan of Arsenal has tragically been shot dead while celebrating the club’s 2-0 victory over Manchester United in a Premier League match on December 4. The incident occurred in Uganda, Lukaya town, about 100 km (62 miles) from Kampala, at a restaurant where a large crowd of jubilant supporters had gathered, reports BBC.

The shooting happened towards the end of the match when tensions rose over the noise made by the fans. A local journalist reported that the restaurant’s manager became frustrated with the celebrations and instructed a security guard to intervene. When fans ignored the warning to quiet down, the manager allegedly switched off the power in the restaurant, which only escalated the situation

Witnesses claim that, in response, the guard opened fire, hitting 30-year-old John Ssenyonga, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Another fan, Lawrence Mugejera, was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. Both the security guard and the restaurant manager are currently on the run, with police actively searching for them.
