Fire breaks out at Radio Nigeria office in Lagos

A fire broke out on Wednesday evening at the Radio Nigeria office on Plot 35, Ikoyi Road, Lagos, causing panic and prompting a swift response from emergency teams.

Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed that the fire started in the studio section of the one-story building.

The agency received a distress call around 5:30 PM and immediately mobilized firefighters from Dolphin, Ebute Elefun, and Oba Onitolo Fire Stations to contain the blaze.

“We assure the public that collaborative efforts with the Federal Fire Service, Nigerian Police, and other responders have brought the situation under control,” Adeseye said. “The fire has been confined to the studio section, and no casualties have been reported so far.”

Efforts to fully extinguish the fire and determine the extent of the damage are still ongoing. The cause of the fire remains unknown as investigations are underway.

Adeseye added, “Damping down of the fire embers continues, and we will update the public as more details emerge.”
