VeryDarkMan reveals N180m left his NGO account

Popular social media activist Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has reported that hackers stole N180 million from his NGO’s bank account.

In a video posted on Instagram Friday, Otse revealed that unknown persons hacked into the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative website and diverted most of its funds to another account.

“Honestly, I’ve not been myself for the past few days,” Otse said in the video. “Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.”

According to Otse, only N20 million remains in the account, while N160 million was stolen. The account has now been placed on Post No Debit (PND) to prevent further withdrawals.

“We’re heading to Jos to recover the money,” he announced.

The NGO, which was launched on October 13, 2024, had received substantial support from donors, raising over N33 million within its first 24 hours of operation.

Music producer Don Jazzy (Michael Collins Ajereh) later made a significant contribution of N100 million to support the organization’s work with public school students.

Following the security breach, Otse said he had to temporarily shut down the NGO’s app for maintenance. He promised to keep supporters updated on efforts to recover the stolen funds.
