Shettima meets released #EndBadGovernance minors

The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has met with minors recently released from legal proceedings connected to the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This development follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive to withdraw charges against the minors.

The protest, held from August 1 to 10, spotlighted economic challenges facing Nigerians and prompted widespread reaction.

The minors, among a group of 119 individuals initially charged with treason and incitement, faced legal proceedings that attracted intense criticism.

Following public outcry, Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, ordered the case files from the police.

Earlier today, the Federal High Court in Abuja struck out the charges, releasing all detainees, including the 32 minors in the first group of 76 and a second group of 43.
