The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria has announced that it has signed an agreement to begin distributing premium motor spirit from Dangote Refinery.
This was disclosed by the National President of PETROAN, Billy Gillis-Harry, on Tuesday.
Gillis-Harry stated that PETROAN will begin distributing Dangote Refinery’s premium motor spirit nationwide.
He also emphasized that the agreement will help eliminate price differences at filling stations.
“PETROAN sealed a partnership with Dangote/MRS for greater and more efficient petroleum distribution nationwide. By this agreement reached today, Nigerians will henceforth get the best value for money paid for the purchase of PMS, and the era of price disparity will be a thing of the past, even as consideration for the cost of transportation is inclusive in the scheme,” he said.
Gillis-Harry referred to the agreement as a demonstration of goodwill from Dangote Refinery, in partnership with PETROAN, to the Nigerian people.
He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, assuring them that better days are ahead.
Also, In a statement on Tuesday, PETROAN praised the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority for granting gas distribution and importation licenses to the first batch of accredited marketers, including NGML, NIPCO, AXXELA, FALCON, and SNG.
Licensees were urged to utilize their licenses to support the successful implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s gas expansion initiative, ensuring smooth gas distribution to all 774 local government areas across the country.
The statement, signed by PETROAN spokesperson Joseph Obele, also revealed that PETROAN inaugurated its Lagos State Executive Council yesterday in preparation for the tasks ahead.
He stated that the goal of the executive council is to eliminate issues such as adulteration, illegal adjustments of metering systems, victimization of retail outlet owners by agencies, and the hoarding of petroleum products.
The statement reads, “The National President congratulated Akinola Ogunyolemi, who emerged as the Lagos State Chairman of PETROAN in a keenly contested election.
“Other elected officers at the Ordinary General Meeting include Chief Kayode Owodiye (Vice Chairman), Ehimen Akhere Joseph (Secretary), Mrs. Jane Okoh (PRO), Prince Bakare Adeyinka (Treasurer), and Mr Olugbenga Alex (State Technical Adviser).
“The president charged them to acknowledge the hierarchy of PETROAN at the national and zonal levels. The National President of PETROAN directed the newly inaugurated Lagos State Executive Council of PETROAN to apply for and secure an audience with the Lagos State Governor, just as it is done in other states, for the presentation and introduction of the State leadership of PETROAN to the governor.”
