Lagos govt seals RCCG, eight others for noise pollution

The Lagos State Government has sealed a location of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and other business facilities for noise pollution.

In a statement on Monday, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the move was to foster a healthier and sustainable environment for all Lagosians.

He listed Daily Bakery, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Gak Universal Allied Limited, Ideal Standard, Golden Have Resort and Suites, amongs others were sealed by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency.

“In a decisive move to combat noise pollution and other environmental violations, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) during the week sealed several establishments across the state. The enforcement operation, which covered areas such as Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Okota Isolo, underscores LASEPA’s commitment to fostering a healthier and more sustainable environment for all Lagosians.

“The sealed establishments include Daily Bakery, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gak Universal Allied Limited, Ideal Standard, Franjane Royal Suites, Golden Haven Resort & Suites, Festival Hotel Conference Center & SPA, FS Service Centre and Moulin Rouge Ventures at Olivia Mall

“These establishments were shut down for failing to comply with environmental standards, despite prior notices from the agency,” he said.

Tikunbo noted that the operation reflects LASEPA’s steadfast determination to uphold environmental laws and safeguard the well-being of Lagosians.

He assured the public of the agency’s continued efforts to create a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable Lagos.
