JUST IN: Again, national grid collapses

The national grid has yet again suffered another collapse for the tenth time this year.

This was confirmed on the official National Grid page via X.com on Tuesday.

They wrote, “BREAKING: National Grid suffers another setback. Restoration soon!”

As seen on the page, the hourly generation reading reads 0 megawatts as of 3:30 pm for all feeders nationwide.

Confirming the power outage, Ikeja Electric and Jos Disco have notified the public and assured customers that restoration work is ongoing.

The development comes after the grid collapsed three times in one week towards the end of last month.

Recall that the minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu, last month said that grid collapses are almost inevitable in Nigeria given the deplorable state of the country’s power infrastructure.

The minister also said there is a need to have power grids in different regions or states to put an end to constant grid collapses
