Emzor unveils plan to end drug abuse with N1bn

Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has unveiled its plan to establish a N1bn foundation with the motive to frontally combat the menace of drug abuse among the youths and society at large.

The pharmaceutical company made this known during a recent annual Thanksgiving and 40th Anniversary Dinner held in Lagos.

Founder/Group Managing Director of the company, Dr. Stella Okoli, insisted that the outfit can no longer fold its arms and allow drug abuse to force the future into a waste.

She added that the N1bn would be used for critical interventions in the care of victims of drug abuse across the country.

Okoli stated, “The menace of drug abuse is becoming a serious problem for our youths and society. The situation is so bad today that we can no longer fold our arms and watch the future go to waste.

“This is the time for all of us to come together and do something about it. For this reason, we shall be unveiling the Emzor Wellness Foundation Anti-Drug Abuse Fund. This will be a One Billion Naira Fund to be used for critical interventions in the care and rehabilitation of victims of drug abuse.”

To further strengthen the aspirations of the youths, Okoli added that, “While we are making critical interventions towards ensuring a better future for our youths, it is equally important that we give them the motivation and inspiration they need to pursue their dreams and write their own success stories. This is why we are also launching today the Dr. Stella Okoli Prize for Entrepreneurship. This will be an annual prize for pioneering and innovative enterprises by female founders under 40.”

The managing director, who praised God for the growth achieved by the company over the last 40 years, noted that the enterprise, which started as a dream, has now grown into a product portfolio of over 200, all duly certified by the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control.

She, asserted that the company has just begun, promising to commission an API plant and ultra-modern factory, adding that the production capacity of the company will meet local demand and also for export to African countries.

She said, “As they say, life begins at 40! So for us at Emzor, we have only just begun. Emzor has come to stay! In the years ahead, we shall officially commission our API plant and ultra-modern factory. Our production capacity is set to multiply to meet local demand and also for export to other African countries.

“We have our eyes set on building a truly global brand, bringing unlimited wellness to all, wherever they may be around the world. We are working to ensure that very soon, we shall no longer need to depend on imported medications for most of our basic healthcare needs. We see a future of healthcare security for our nation where unlimited wellness is available to all and affordable by all.”
