The Ekiti State Government has dismissed rumours claiming that Governor Biodun Oyebanji is distributing a N25,000 Christmas cash grant.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Yinka Oyebode, the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, described the claim as unfounded and warned residents to be cautious of fraudulent activities.

The aide to the governor added that his principal does not engage in any cash grants or distribution through unofficial channels or online platforms.
The government urged residents to be vigilant and refrain from sharing personal information with unauthorised individuals or websites seeking to exploit them.
The statement read: “This is to inform the general public that the information circulating regarding a ₦25,000 Christmas cash grant from the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, is false and should be disregarded.
“The governor does not engage in any form of cash grant or cash distribution through unofficial channels or online platforms.
“We urge the people of the state to remain vigilant and not to provide personal information to unauthorised websites or individuals who are out to defraud them.”
