Socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has opened up about his ongoing conflict with Afrofusion star Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy.
According to the socialite, the feud stems from Burna Boy’s jealousy over his close relationship with singer David Adeleke, widely known as Davido.
Speaking during an interview on Rubbin’ Minds on Channels Television on Sunday, Cubana Chief Priest said, “My whole issue with Burna Boy started because he was jealous of my relationship with Davido. He wanted Cubana Chief Priest by his side, but I chose to work with Davido. Me and Davido have never discussed anything about Burna Boy. Davido isn’t the kind of person who would use his time to discuss his colleagues. It’s always them imagining things and trying to drag us.”
The tension between Cubana Chief Priest and Burna Boy has been brewing for weeks, with both men exchanging words on social media.
The conflict escalated when Burna Boy referred to Cubana Chief Priest as the “Owerri Rick Ross” in a post that was widely seen as mocking the socialite. In response, Cubana Chief Priest accused Burna Boy of owing money to a jeweler in London and raised questions about his financial credibility.
The situation worsened when Burna Boy offered $30,000 to someone claiming to be Cubana Chief Priest’s younger brother, who alleged that the socialite had abandoned him. However, Cubana Chief Priest denied having such a brother, questioning the authenticity of the claims and Burna Boy’s intentions.
In another twist, Burna Boy extended financial assistance to Cubana Chief Priest’s alleged Kenyan baby mama after she publicly shared her struggles. Cubana Chief Priest responded by releasing a video showing Burna Boy allegedly begging him for cake, though the authenticity of the video has been questioned by fans.
Cubana Chief Priest suggested that Burna Boy’s successes, including his Grammy win, might have been influenced by external factors. Burna Boy, in turn, accused the socialite of fraudulent activities.
Declaring the feud as “for life,” Cubana Chief Priest said there is no chance for reconciliation. “After all the personal and professional boundaries he crossed, there’s no going back,” he added.
