Bianca Ojukwu, six others confirmed as ministers by Senate

The Senate has confirmed a former beauty queen, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, and six others as new ministers to serve in the cabinet of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

This came after the seven ministerial nominees had been screened by the senators.

Apart from Bianca, other nominees confirmed are Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Dr Jumoke Oduwole and Suwaiba Said Ahmad.

The seven names were forwarded by President Tinubu to the Senate for confirmation after a cabinet reshuffle leading to the sacking of six ministers and appointment new ones.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu is an accomplished diplomat, lawyer, businesswoman and beauty pageant titleholder.

The former President, Goodluck Jonathan in 2011, appointed Bianca as Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs.

She later became Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ghana and later Ambassador to the Kingdom Of Spain.

She is Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organization.

The widow of former Biafra warlord Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu is a multiple international pageant titleholder.
