Popular gospel singer and songwriter, Mercy Chinwo-Blessed, has broken her silence on the controversies surrounding her career, revealing shocking details of alleged bullying, threats, and legal battles with her former manager, EeZee Conceptz
In an emotional video shared on her social media platforms, the singer addressed what she described as a “toxic environment” created by her ex-manager, whom she accused of attempting to tarnish her image and control her career.
Mercy Chinwo, known for her soulful worship songs and energetic performances, explained the challenge faced during her time under the management of the unnamed individual, who she claimed had taken her to court and spread false narratives about her online.
According to the singer, the trouble began in 2017 when she signed a management contract with the individual, whom she initially regarded as a father figure.
However, their relationship soured when she refused to sign a 12-year extension to the contract.
She alleged that her refusal led to a series of bullying and threats, forcing her to relocate from Lagos to Port Harcourt for safety.
“He looked at me and said, ‘I made you who you are, and I will destroy you,’” Messy Chinwa revealed. “I became scared for my life. It got to a point where I had to move from Lagos to Port Harcourt because this man made the environment toxic for me.”
The singer also accused her former manager of seizing her royalties for two years and spreading false information about her personal life, including making disparaging claims about her son.
She further alleged that the individual paid bloggers to publish fake news about her and other gospel ministers, including Pastor Nathanael Bassey and Pastor Jerry Eze, whom he reportedly disliked.
“One of my major crimes was when I did a song with Pastor Nathanael Bassey,” she said.
“Because this man hates Pastor Nathanael Bassey, you went as far as posting fake news about an innocent child, my son, and you said my son was not my son.”
Mercy also addressed the legal battles between them, stating that her former manager had taken her and Minister Judy Kay to court while portraying himself as the victim online.
She shared documents to support her claims and challenged him to explain what happened to the 2017 and 2019 contracts.
Despite the challenges, the singer remained resolute, declaring her faith in God as her ultimate protector.
“You have bloggers. I have God. And I know that God will not let your plan come to pass,” she said.
