Binance Executive Slumps In Court During Alleged Money Laundering Case

The trial of Tigran Gambaryan, a detained executive of Binance, took a surprising turn at the Federal High Court in Abuja when he collapsed in court. When called upon by the court registrar, Gambaryan failed to enter the dock, remaining seated at the back.

The trial judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, inquired about his well-being, and a defense lawyer assisted him to the dock. However, Gambaryan slumped and was helped to sit in the front row.

At this point, his lawyer, Mark Mordi, informed the court that Gambaryan had been unwell and had filed a written application to notify the court. This development came after Justice Nwite had denied Gambaryan’s bail application, citing flight risk concerns.

Gambaryan faces money laundering and terrorism financing charges brought by the EFCC, alongside Nadeem Anjarwalla and Binance Holdings Limited.
