JUST IN: Family Announces Funeral Arrangements For Late Actor Alexx Ekubo

The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo-Okwaraeke has announced the funeral arrangements for the deceased, with activities scheduled to hold across Lagos and Abia State between June 10 and 18, 2026.

The announcement was made on Monday via the late actor’s official Instagram page and signed by Mazi Alex Oji Ekubo-Okwaraeke, on behalf of the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family.

According to the family, a Service of Songs will hold on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Lekki, Lagos, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., with attendees requested to dress in white.

A wake keep is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, in Arochukwu, Abia State, ahead of the funeral service and interment the following day, Thursday, June 18, also in Arochukwu. A reception will follow immediately after the interment.

The family, in the announcement, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support received since the actor’s passing, describing the love shown as humbling.

“Alexx was deeply loved, and your kindness continues to remind us that his light, compassion, faith, and impact on so many lives will never be forgotten,” the family stated.

The family described the late actor as a man whose “presence filled rooms, lifted hearts, and created memories,” and extended a warm invitation to family, friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers to attend the events.

They also requested continued prayers for the actor’s wife and the entire family.

Recall that Alex died at the age of 40 after a prolonged battle with cancer.
